Cuban Customers Visit Greensun Lithium Battery Factory

Cuba's traditional energy market relies heavily on fossil fuels (especially oil), resulting in high power generation costs and unstable supply. Affected by US sanctions, Cuba has long struggled to import fuel and maintain its severely aging power plant equipment, leading to a nationwide power shortage.

To help Cuba improve its power supply capacity, address the challenges of its national power system, alleviate daytime power shortages, increase the utilization rate of renewable energy, and strongly promote the transformation of Cuba's energy structure, the Cuban government has set a target of achieving 24% renewable energy by 2030, with policies encouraging foreign and private investment. As of 2023, Cuba's cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity was approximately 300-400MW, primarily ground-mounted power plants, with distributed photovoltaic systems gradually being promoted. Cuba has abundant sunshine resources, with an average annual sunshine intensity of approximately 5kWh/m²/day, suitable for photovoltaic power generation.

        Recently, customers from Cuba visited the Greensun lithium battery factory, intending to sign a contract for a 500kW energy storage system to be installed in their factory. We not only took the client on a tour of the battery production line, but also explained the details of lithium batteries, demonstrated the communication test between lithium batteries and inverters, and showcased our all in one outdoor cabinet and containerised battery energy storage system. The client expressed interest in cooperating with us on large-scale power plant energy storage projects in the future.
